Packing With A Purpose

Packing With A Purpose

by Brooke Gibson on November 01, 2018

Erin and Aidan Quinn (children of Breese and Susanne Quinn) have grown up packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. "Since we were babies, it's always been a special part of our family's Thanksgiving tradition in preparing for Christmas," said Erin, age 16. Aidan's favorite item to pack in the boxes are footballs, while Erin enjoys packing dolls in her boxes.

Three years ago, the Quinn Family began volunteering in a big way for OCC by coordinating the central drop-off location in our church's CLC during National Collection Week.

Erin and Aidan (age 14) work alongside their parents volunteering during that week. Their primary responsibilities involve decorating/setting up the collection site, greeting donors and receiving the boxes. Aidan also packs the boxes into cartons to ship to the main distribution center in Atlanta.

"One thing we love is it's a great way to do missions together as a family," said Erin. "We get excited seeing all the boxes coming in, knowing the joy they will bring to the kids and how many will be saved through the boxes."

Our youth serving together with their families is just one more thing to love about First.
